You set the pace

Comfort & sedation dentistry

You do not need to ‘just get over’ dental anxiety. We use stop signals, explain sensations before they happen, and offer appropriate sedation options after reviewing your health and needs.

A clear place to start

Is this right for you?

Comfort-focused care can help if anxiety has kept you away, you have a strong gag reflex, or you need a longer procedure. Sedation is not appropriate for everyone and requires a health review.

What the process looks like

01

Tell us what would help

Share your concerns privately. We agree on breaks, signals, and how much explanation you want before treatment begins.

02

Review safe options

Your dentist reviews your health history and recommends local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, oral sedation, or specialist care when appropriate.

03

Stay in control

We check in throughout the visit and pause when you ask. For oral sedation, we provide written preparation and recovery instructions.

Let’s talk about cost

Financial clarity is part of good clinical care. We provide an itemized plan before elective treatment and can discuss insurance estimates, financing, or phasing care when appropriate.

What to expect at Luma

Nitrous oxide is $140 per visit. Oral sedation is $325 and includes additional monitoring and recovery time. You must arrange a responsible adult driver for oral sedation.

Questions, answered

01Will I be asleep?

Nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are not general anesthesia. You remain responsive, although you may feel deeply relaxed. If you need deeper sedation, we discuss referral to an appropriately equipped provider.

02Can I drive afterward?

Nitrous oxide generally wears off quickly and most patients can drive once cleared. Oral sedation requires a responsible adult to drive you home and you should not drive for the rest of the day.

03Can I just have a low-stress first visit?

Yes. You can book a conversation and exam without scheduling treatment. Getting comfortable with the space and team is a perfectly valid first step.
